Missing Skulls & Props Return to Adventureland Sign in Magic Kingdom

Last week, the Adventureland entrance sign returned to Magic Kingdom without some of the props that decorate the structure. This week, the sign is almost back to normal with the return of most of the missing props.

Missing Adventureland Props Return

The Adventureland entrance sign and the surrounding props were removed from their spot back in August. When it returned last week, a few of the props were notably absent, including the skulls and the carved tops of the right supports.

Parts of the sign were replaced, including the fabric banner featuring hand-stitched lettering and the straw hair around the animal skull. Other aspects were refreshed, including the rope and painted designs.

During our most recent visit to Magic Kingdom, WDWNT noticed the skull props are now back in place. The golden Abu Fab 50 statue is now at the far end of the bridge. See the photo below from last week to compare the sign’s appearance to this week:

The straw decorative piece on the right support is still missing. This may be reinstalled in the near future. All of the other props appear largely unchanged, so it is possible the sign’s removal was simply due to routine maintenance.

Adventureland

Dimly lit Beak and Barrel room with stone walls, a hanging skeleton in a net, and Pirates of the Caribbean costumes.

Attractions in Adventureland include Swiss Family Treehouse, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Jungle Cruise, Enchanted Tiki Room, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen is a nearby table-service restaurant, and there are several places to grab a quick treat. The Beak and Barrel is a brand new lounge that just opened at the end of August. Disney has been opening more reservations for The Beak and Barrel lately, since it remains one of the hottest dining reservations to grab at Walt Disney World in recent weeks.
