The PeopleMover at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World is currently closed and surrounded by construction walls. This closure was not announced ahead of time, contrary to usual operating procedures for refurbishments.
PeopleMover Closed

Gray construction walls currently surround the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at Magic Kingdom, but the classic attraction is just undergoing maintenance.

Cast Members posted around the attraction confirmed to our reporters that maintenance is currently being done on the PeopleMover’s entrance and exit ramps. The attraction is expected to reopen tomorrow, pending any unforeseen issues.
In the meantime, we saw guests enjoying a game of Cast Member-supervised Cornhole under the PeopleMover sign and track.

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover opened at Magic Kingdom on July 1, 1975, the second iteration of ride following the Disneyland original from 1967. Disneyland’s version was removed in 1995, so only the Walt Disney World attraction remains in a relatively unchanged state, although the 1970s entrance turnstiles were replaced this summer.
