Hello! This is your one and only Nana.
I am writing this from a flight on the way to Tokyo, Japan. Why am I going to Tokyo? I mean… Because there is a Disney park? Joking aside, I am going to Tokyo to cover Halloween at Tokyo Disney Resort and maybe eat some good food. Since I am covering Tokyo Disney Halloween, I am covering most of the Halloween events this year. The only thing I didn’t get to touch is HHN at Universal Studios Hollywood. This is why I have been super busy all summer.
Let’s talk about Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida, shall we?
HHN at Universal Orlando Resort

I think this is my 5th year going to HHN in Orlando. My first HHN took place at Universal Studios Hollywood back in 2011. This traumatized me, and I didn’t want to go back for a while.
How did I get traumatized? Well, back in 2011, social media was still new, so I did not have much info about the HHN Terror Tram. I thought it would be like a regular tram ride, and scareactors would pop up from the sides of the street while we were riding.
WRONG!
They dropped me off in the middle of the movie set and made me walk! Like I said, I DID NOT KNOW. Since this happened, I have been avoiding HHN. However, in 2016, one of my family members became a scareactor, and I had to go support him. Since then, I started to go once a year, IF my friends wanted to go.
This year, I ended up with a Rush of Fear Pass.
Don’t Buy Rush of Fear

From the opening day until today, I’ve gone to HHN six times, which is fully worth the price of the pass. My Rush of Fear Pass expires on September 20th. I was planning to go few more nights before it expires; however, this Tokyo trip popped up in the last minute, so I decided to upgrade my pass to a Frequent Fear Pass.
Went to Guest Services, and they told me “You can’t upgrade to the Frequent Fear Pass, you can only upgrade to the Frequent Fear Plus Pass, since Rush of Fear includes some Saturdays.” They told me the difference would be about $240. Lesson learned, just buy a Frequent Fear Pass. If you are super sure you are only going to visit HHN up to mid-September, you can stay with the Rush of Fear Pass.
In those six nights, what did I do? Ah, that’s a good question.
HHN 34
So obviously, for the first two nights, we had to do food reviews nonstop. If you haven’t watched our sacrifice on YouTube, please watch it:
For the 3rd and 4th nights, I went solo and was just there to get some content.
At this point you probably just realized, “She hasn’t done any houses yet?”
CORRECT! Nana hadn’t gone to any houses! Why? Because she is a chicken, and she had nightmares the first day she went to HHN. On the 5th, 6th, and 7th nights, I finally went to a few houses.

I watched Five Nights at Freddy’s on the way to Oogie Boogie Bash, so I was super excited about this house. In my no-spoiler review, the animatronics are amazing and well-made. They were not very scary. I jumped a few times, but I could easily handle this.
When I went to HHN solo, I was there to get a video of Art from Terrifier roaming around the park. I knew who he was, but I still haven’t watched the movies, so I had no clue what the Terrifier house was about. However, I chose the wet path, and I still enjoyed the house. I’ve seen lots of guests wearing ponchos to go on the wet path.

I guarantee you that Florida rain can give you more water damage than the wet path. I thought this was on the same scare level as FNAF, and I wasn’t too scared.

I am not a big WWE fan, but my friend recommended that I try The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks house, so I went. Again, I had no clue about any of the characters’ backstories.
I can only say this was an interesting and kind-of catchy house. If I decide to upgrade my pass to Frequent Fear Plus, I would like to go back and see it again so I can understand the house better.

Our reporter Wendy recommended El Artista: A Spanish Haunting.
While this is a no-spoiler review, THIS IS A LEGIT HOUSE. The set is gorgeous and a fun surprise. A few of the scareactors got me to jump, but overall it was not that scary. This house is worth visiting just to see the set.
I also didn’t plan on going to the Grave of Flesh house, but I did. Again, no spoilers, but this house smelled REALLY GOOD. If you hear “grave,” you would imagine a wet, moldy smell. But no, this was totally the opposite, and gave me the WDW resort lobby vibe smell.

So I visited a total of six houses (including doing Terrifier twice), and I haven’t gone to Fallout yet. I wanted to watch Fallout before going to the house, but I didn’t have time to do it… Maybe on the way back to Orlando?
Club Horror

I loved Club Horror so much! The DJ was great; they really knew their crowd. When I went, they were playing throwbacks from 2010–2015, which was perfect since that’s when I used to go out a lot.
Now I feel old, because the only “club” I go to these days is the New Year’s Eve dance party at Magic Kingdom, which is way more family-friendly. Club Horror, on the other hand, has a legit club vibe since you can even bring drinks.

Also, Santa Art from Terrifer was roaming there, but too many people tried to follow him and caused chaos.
The Death Eaters Encounter

My absolute favorite part of the year was the Death Eater encounter. I saw guests battling with their wands, so I even went back to my car to pick up my wand so I could battle.
But guess what? A guest next to me was battling a Death Eater with her foldable umbrella! This made my whole experience. I felt like my wand was nothing! Maybe next time, I should bring the Disney Starlight parade bubble wand and battle with a Death Eater (I am joking, please do not battle a Death Eater with a bubble wand). You can watch me battling with them below:

Scare Zones

Since I am the chicken of WDWNT, I had to get myself a Deathly Afraid Necklace so I could take pictures and videos of the scare zones and street experiences. Without the necklace, I can’t. My favorite scare zone or street experience was Mel’s Die-in zombies.
The zombies were definitely a great addition this year! They tried to serve me some not-so-fresh legs and arms.
Overall, the necklace works in the scare zones for people like me. The scareactors would laugh at me for wearing it, make fun of me wearing it, or just ignore my presence.

Nana, back in 2016, would never have believed it if I told her, “You’ll buy a Rush of Fear Pass and go to houses in 2025.” It’s safe to say I enjoyed HHN 2025, and I am hoping to go back when I return to Orlando!
As always, thank you for reading nana’s Death Note Princess Diary. See you real soon!
