The spike element of Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Florida has grown with more supports attached, as seen in photos by @bioreconstruct.
Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift Construction

The spike will ultimately be 170 feet tall. Like most of the coaster’s supports, it consists of blue pieces. It’s right at the edge of the construction site, close to the CityWalk lagoon.

We saw the lower supports of the spike get installed last week. In this section of the coaster, cars will rise up and then descend back down.

If you look closely at the connections, you can see there will be a twist in the track. The arrow and “DOT” refer to the direction of travel.

Crews have also started painting walls along the edge of the construction site to match the park’s repainted entrance.
Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift replaces Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. It’s expected to open in 2027. One version of the coaster, however, will open soon at Universal Studios Hollywood.
