Five years after the parade’s last performance, Universal Studios Japan confirmed that Universal Spectacle Night Parade Best of Hollywood is permanently closed.
Universal Spectacle Night Parade Officially Closed
Universal Spectacle Night Parade Best of Hollywood debuted in May 2018. In 2019, it received the Thea Award for best Live Show Spectacular. When COVID-19 hit, the parade ceased operations and never resumed performances.
Universal Studios Japan said in a release this week that the parade has ended.
We are committed to continually delivering world-class experiences that exceed our guests’ expectations, and we appreciate your understanding.

The announcement isn’t a surprise, as some of the floats were reportedly destroyed years ago. All of its Jurassic World floats live on as part of the daytime Universal Mega Movie Parade in Universal Studios Florida.
The parade featured units inspired by Harry Potter, Transformers, Jurassic World, and Despicable Me / Minions. It had 15 light-up floats, including a life-size Hogwarts Express and synchronized projection mapping along the parade route.
