Walt Disney World filed a new permit related to their Central Florida affordable housing project.
Disney Affordable Housing Permit
Filed on September 8, the permit refers to the project as the Hartzog Road Attainable Housing Community. It’s application number 250908-56772 with the South Florida Water Management District and outlines the environmental impact and requirements of construction, specifically for water basins and stormwater management.
The proposed project is described as a “1369 unit multifamily development and supporting infrastructure.” The listed address is 10901 Avalon Road, Winter Garden, FL 34787. The project acreage is 103.38.
Disney is partnering with The Michaels Organization to construct the residences. The Michaels Organization will own and operate the community.
Disney announced the project in April 2022 and it received final approval in October 2024. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
