The time has come for the Cairo Spiny Mouse to be retired from the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

This spiny friend was showing signs of labored breathing, and it was decided that he would retire to Rafiki’s Planet Watch.
Spiny mice usually have a life expectancy of two years, and he is over four years old. His habitat is currently covered with a beige tarp.
Rafikis Planet Watch
Rafiki’s Planet Watch is a place to learn about conservation efforts and participate in different animal-themed activities. There is a science center; an amphibian, reptile, and invertebrate window; a nutrition center; and a veterinary treatment room. These different rooms show what experts are doing to take care of and learn about the animals under their care.
