Refurbished Maestro Mickey’s Gift Shop at Disney’s All-Star Music Features Mickey Mouse Revue Reference

The refurbishment is complete on Maestro Mickey’s, the gift shop of Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. Refurbishment work began in August.

Maestro Mickey’s Refurbishment

As we reported on in October, Maestro Mickey’s got all new light wood-style flooring. The walls, shelves, counters, and décor were all changed as well. Above are photos of the before and after.

In addition to color and décor changes, the store has been rearranged somewhat. The check-out counters are now only on the left side towards the back of the store. The white shelving units along the walls were repainted blue.

The new displays in the center of the store have brown and red trims resembling a theater marquee. There is red and teal trim above the built-in shelves. The walls now have a blue gradient design instead of solid white.

The former large music staff and notes on the walls have been replaced by smaller versions, but they are still 3D elements. These have a more flowing arrangement and are accompanied by instruments.

A display case on one wall features features Mickey’s black suit from the Mickey Mouse Revue. The animatronic show performed at Magic Kingdom from opening day in 1971 to 1980, then moved to Tokyo Disneyland, where it performed from 1983 to 2009.

A poster for the show hangs up in the case. There’s a music stand overflowing with sheet music for Disney classics like “When You Wish Upon A Star,” “Mickey Mouse March,” and “Whistle While You Work” — all of which were featured in the stage show.

Another display resembles a dressing room with Mickey’s gloves, top hat, and scarf around a vanity.

There’s more sheet missing spilling onto the floor and a framed picture of Minnie on the vanity. The photo is actually from Disney Cruise Line. Minnie poses in her formal night outfit in front of the Walt Disney mural on the Disney Magic.

A shelving unit atop one display is shaped like a baby grand piano. A violin case sits on one of the shelves. Some units have harp-shaped supports.

Another unit is topped with a group of golden horn instruments and a music stand. The store is currently decorated for Christmas with silver trees.

The panels around the cash registers are inspired by music stands. The fronts of the cash wraps have brown wood-style paneling, while the counters are silver-gray.

Blue drums are tucked against some of the shelving units, acting as tables to display merchandise.

The back wall behind one check-out is a teal accent wall. It has mounted instruments as decoration.
