The Disney Destiny cruise ship was officially christened back in November with a show featuring drones, projections, and live music. A new episode of the YouTube series Disney Unscripted goes behind the scenes of the special Disney Cruise Line event, following cast and crew through the 33 hours leading up to the big moment.
Behind the Scenes of Disney Destiny Christening
The show directors and producers spent over a year planning the christening while the Disney Destiny was being constructed. The video follows as they prepare the outdoor stage, as well as a lounge area in the Disney Cruise Line terminal of Port Everglades.
Rehearsals the day before helped performers figure out their choreography in relation to the stage. The ship had to be reconfigured before running a rehearsal with the projections and drones. Thirty projectors were used to put images on the ship.
The video goes through the christening, showing how producers, engineers, and crew members made the show come together. Watch the episode below.
