Disneyland Closing Early On Christmas Eve Due To Heavy Rainfall

Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are set to close early today, Christmas Eve, due to a powerful “atmospheric river” storm approaching Southern California.

Upwards of four inches of rainfall is expected by the end of the day, giving cause for Disneyland to take precautions.

Disneyland will now close at 11 PM, while DCA will close at 9 PM, both an hour earlier than originally posted. Daily tickets are still available for the maximum price of $224 until January 3.

Christmas week is usually the busiest time of the year for Disneyland, which has led to park operations changes such as four trains running at once.

The storm has been forecast to last until at least Saturday, December 27, so other days might be affected as well, although Disney has not changed any other operating hours as of yet. It is interesting to note that rainfall over Christmas has not happened in the region since 2019, while the all-time record for rainfall on Christmas Day is 3.01 inches in 1884, according to the National Weather Service.
