Two permits have been filed for the new 3.2 million square foot east parking structure coming to Disneyland Resort. The structure is part of a DisneylandForward project officially announced earlier this year but teased back in 2023.
New Disneyland Resort Parking Garage
The plan is similar to the Eastern Gateway project, which was announced in 2016 but never fully came to fruition. The Pixar Pals parking structure was built in 2019 instead.
Both permits are for 1585 S Manchester Ave, which is currently a Cast Member parking lot across Harbor Blvd from the rest of Disneyland Resort. It will become a new entrance to the resort, which will also include a pedestrian bridge to cross Harbor Blvd leading to a new esplanade arrival experience.
Permit BLD2025-06432 is for “Plumbing and Mechanical: Install onsite utilities” at an “East Parking Structure”. Permit BLD2025-06431 holds more information, including that the 3.2 million square foot garage will be 8 levels and have 302 electrical vehicle chargers.
DLR – East Parking Structure – New Commercial Construction: 3,257,394 sq ft 8-level open parking structure core and shell. Install 302 EV chargers. With limited mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
The structure will have 6,000 parking spaces, a dedicated space for shuttles and ride-sharing, security, and dedicated access for traffic off Disney Way.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2026. The new parking garage is coming in time for other Disneyland Resort expansions, including the new Avatar area and two more Avengers Campus rides.
