Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Closed Again for Cold Weather

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is closed for a second day in a row due to cold weather in Central Florida.

Typhoon Lagoon was closed on Monday, December 15, and remains closed on Tuesday, December 16. Hours are listed for Wednesday onwards, but the schedule is subject to change. Typhoon Lagoon is usually open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The high today is 72°F, according to Weather.com but temperatures will be in the 60s for most of the day.

Universal Volcano Bay was also closed on Monday but is scheduled to open on Tuesday.

It’s common for the water parks to close during the winter months due to inclement weather. Typhoon Lagoon closed in early November amid a Cold Weather Advisory and then again early in December. It will likely close more throughout the winter.

Rows of empty lounge chairs on a sandy beach face a wave pool and tropical landscaping under a sunny sky.

Guests arriving at Walt Disney World in 2025 can enjoy complimentary water park admission on check-in day and will want to keep these closures in mind. This perk will return for summer 2026.
