A months-long guest room refurbishment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is underway, beginning with Kidani Village. Some rooms are already complete, and we got a look at a 2-bedroom villa.

Refurbished 2-Bedroom Villa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village

Hallways feature new paint and carpeting with warm, neutral tones.

The bathrooms were completely overhauled. The shower is lined with orange tile featuring African-style patterns. The showers have glass doors and a dual showerhead system. Dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are mounted on the wall. The vanity features wood accents, a new sink, black countertop, and a framed mirror.

The living room has a red couch hiding a queen-sized Murphy bed. Before being folded down, Disney’s Animal Kingdom map artwork is visible on the unit, which also has built-in shelves and lights.

Above the Murphy bed is The Lion King artwork featuring baby Simba, Sarabi, Rafiki, Zazu, and other animals.

A second pull-down bed is underneath the TV. It has artwork of Timon, Pumbaa, and Simba asleep on the savanna.

The original dining table remains. Framed colorful woven plates are in a new display above the table. The new chandeliers are inspired by woven baskets. There are new sinks and fixtures in the kitchen. The backsplash and paint were also updated. Appliances include a Keurig Duo 2.0, fridge, oven, microwave, and dishwasher.

In the double bedroom are new tapestry headboards. Both bedrooms have new ceiling fans with leaf-shaped blades. The carpeting has been replaced. The rest of the villa has vinyl plank flooring.

The bed frames and dressers remain the same. There is new Africa landscape artwork. More USB/USB-C charging ports have been added throughout.
