Guard Shack Now Operational at Polynesian Village Resort in Walt Disney World

As part of the ongoing resort and infrastructure developments around Disney’s Polynesian Village resort, a new guard shack has completed construction and is now fully operational for guests entering the resort parking lot.

We first sighted the guard shack construction back in September. The completed guard shack matches the theming seen on the porte-cochere of the Polynesian’s Great Ceremonial House and visual style throughout the resort.

The completion of the shack marks another milestone in the construction of the resort’s new roadway entrance off Floridian Way intended to replace its former entrance off Seven Seas Drive.

Closer inspection of the shack shows two doorways – one on the entry-road side for guards to greet guests as they enter the resort, and a backdoor on the opposite wall. The four sides of the shack feature two square windows each, all with pulldown blinds. A rough estimate of the shack’s overall footprint, based on guards’ approximate height, suggests a total area of about 12’x12′.
