Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has now added a mobile walk-up waitlist to the My Disney Experience app.
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is a tiki bar located in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Named after the Jungle Cruise character, this is the second Trader Sam’s location after the original Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at Disneyland Hotel in California. The bar is legendary for its themed drinks (some of which trigger special events), collectible tiki mugs, entertaining bartenders, and Adventureland-inspired décor.
Historically, guests would walk to the host stand in person and put their name on a waitlist. Anxious visitors would often line up an hour in advance of the bar’s opening to beat the crowd for this high-demand location.

Following an extension in daily hours for the Grog Grotto, Disney is also making the process more accessible with this mobile walk-up list option, as seen across other dining locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney’s Mobile Dine Walk-Up
Disney’s walk-up lists let guests join same-day dining waitlists via the My Disney Experience app or by scanning a QR code located near the restaurant. With the My Disney Experience app, there’s no need to visit the host stand to check availability. The app shows estimated wait times and notifies guests when their table is ready. The walk-up list is turned on and off as capacity allows.
