Disney will retire the Hulu app sometime in 2026 and fully integrate its content into the Disney+ app. This integration began in the spring of 2024 with “Hulu on Disney+”.
Disney+ and Hulu Integration

The closure of the Hulu app was officially announced in August, but Disney has yet to provide a more specific date for the shutdown. According to Los Angeles Times, the Hulu app will remain available “well into next year.”
Users will still be able to buy standalone Hulu or Disney+ subscriptions. If they do not have a bundle, they will see the other streamer’s content in the app but won’t be able to watch it. The Hulu website will remain available.
Hulu + Live TV will also be integrated with Disney+ in 2026.
For international Disney+ users, the Star tile was replaced by Hulu in October.

This month, the Disney+ homepage was updated to feature tabs for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN content, so users can quickly navigate between content. They are joined by a “For You” tab with content tailored to each specific user.
Though ESPN is integrated on Disney+ and users can purchase a bundle with all three streamers, the sports service will remain separate. Disney launched the standalone ESPN app earlier this year.
Earlier this fall, Disney and Fubo completed the sale of Hulu Live TV. This combines Fubo’s business with Disney’s Hulu + Live TV business.
