Our reporter spotted several new updates notable at the Animation Courtyard Construction project at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Progress appears to be made at the old entrance of Star Wars Launch Bay, or The Magic of Disney Animation, or the Studio Backlot Tour, depending on when you visited the park.

The picture on the right is from last weekend, while the picture on the left was taken today. While unclear, it appears they are working on the surface texture of the material which make up the pylons. After construction is complete, the sorcerer’s hat will be inbetween the two pillars.

Further to the right, a mysterious orb has been spotted above the old Disney Junior Play and Dance building (or Disney Junior Dance Party, Disney Junior – Live on Stage!, Bear in the Big Blue House- Live on Stage, Playhouse Disney Live! The list goes on…).

The orb did not appear to be there over the weekend, and we can only guess as to its purpose. The Disney Junior Dance Party sign appears to still be present.

No progress was visible at The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure building.

Most of Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios closed to guests on September 24, including Star Wars Launch Bay and the Disney Jr. theater. The area is being reimagined as a new space themed to the Walt Disney Studios.
The former Launch Bay building will become a new version of The Magic of Disney Animation, the opening day attraction that Star Wars: Launch Bay replaced. Check out our last look at Animation Courtyard and Star Wars: Launch Bay. A recent aerial update showed ground work.

The iconic arch was demolished in October.
