Hotel Incident

Osceola County deputies arrived at the scene around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 19. Deputies were told that three children were playing in the water when a 6-year-old boy dunked a 7-year-old boy underwater. It was at that point that witnesses told investigators Tiffany Griffith, of Fort Myers, Florida, allegedly entered the pool, yelled at and then pushed the 6-year-old underwater, and held him there for several seconds. Griffith’s son is the 7-year-old who was allegedly dunked under by the younger child.
Per WESH, when the young boy left the pool, he had a nosebleed and was distraught following the alleged incident with Griffith. Witnesses also alleged that Griffith accosted the young boy’s mother before exiting the pool area. The outlet noted that investigators believe alcohol may have been involved in the incident.
Griffith told investigators that she was protecting her nonverbal son, who has autism. She is currently being held at Osceola County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
