With some attractions opening as early as Summer 2026, work is progressing quickly on the Animation Courtyard at Hollywood Studios. The land is set to become a refreshed version of the Animation Courtyard. Take a look at some of the construction courtesy of @bioreconstruct on X.
Animation Courtyard Construction

Concrete forms are being assembled near the center. Concrete has also been poured for walkways at the Disney Jr. building. A temporary tent has been set up near the bottom right.

In front of the Disney Jr. Building, fresh concrete has been poured on either side. The building will be home to Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!

Other forms and dirt work fill the center courtyard, which will be home to a garden area with trees for shade and seating areas.

In the image above, the Disney Jr. building is at the bottom, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure building can be seen at the top, and what was Star Wars Launch Bay is on the right.
Prior to the Star Wars Launch Bay occupying the building, when the park first opened in 1989, guests could tour the park’s active production studios, where Lilo & Stitch and other Walt Disney Animation Studios classics were created. It later housed the Magic of Disney Animation until it was replaced in 2015 by Star Wars Launch Bay.

The full experience will return in 2026, as a “place where kids, and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore animated new experiences.” The attraction will have a Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat facade like the Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, California, as well as a reimagined interior taking inspiration from the Disney Animation headquarters. Except for The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, Animation Courtyard has been closed since September to make way for these new attractions.
