Shanghai Disney Resort is celebrating the Year of the Horse with decor, entertainment, food, and merchandise from January 28 until March 3.
Chinese New Year at Shanghai Disney Resort

2026 is the Year of the Horse, and Shanghai Disney Resort is celebrating by blending traditional Lunar New Year customs with Disney storytelling.
Bullseye

As the official zodiac character for the celebration, Bullseye will be appearing in a special Welcome Moment at the Pepsi E-Stage. Guests may also spot the character during the Spring Festival Drum Ceremony and around Disney Pixar Toy Story Land.
Characters & Entertainment

Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of the gang will wear new outfits inspired by the event. Their colorful new outfits will honor the Year of the Horse with horse motifs, gold ingots, and embroidered patterns to represent prosperity in the new year.

Duffy and all of his pals will join the Hundred Acre Wood crew with new outfits, as well. The pastel clothing features Year of the Horse detailing and embroidered floral designs.
The first day of the celebration will be marked with an opening ceremony featuring Mickey and Friends, followed by a lucky greeting from Goofy dressed as the God of Fortune.
Each night of the festival will bring Spring Festival Celebration: Our Families to the skies with displays including the Chinese character for horse. The nighttime spectacular features projections of Disney families.
Spring Festival Menus

The Royal Banquet Hall, Barbossa’s Bounty, and Pinocchio Village Kitchen will all have new menu items with dishes containing fish and other festive offerings to celebrate prosperity and unique flavor.

Several new desserts will also pop up around the park. Treats like mandarin sorbets, kumquat ice cream, and orange and hawthorn crepes will bring good fortune. Fans of the Zootopia franchise can pick up Winddancer-themed cotton candy and hot chocolate.
Merchandise

Merchandise exclusive to the Year of the Horse celebration will showcase horse-riding designs inspired by traditional folk art on apparel, home décor, and New Year accessories. The samples shown above feature Duffy and Friends. Other collections featuring Zootopia, Bullseye, Goofy, Scrooge McDuck, and Winnie the Pooh and Friends will have horse-inspired theming.
