The Walt Disney Company board of directors plans to announce their next CEO in the next week, two sources familiar with the plans told the New York Times.
New Disney CEO

Disney Experiences chairperson Josh D’Amaro remains the frontrunner, according to the New York Times’ report. D’Amaro is up against Dana Walden, co-chair of Disney Entertainment. Her fellow co-chair Alan Bergman and head of ESPN Jimmy Pitaro have also been considered in the running.
A CEO announcement could come alongside the release of Disney’s earnings report for Q1 2026 on Monday. But that hasn’t been confirmed.
CEO Bob Iger’s contract will be up at the end of 2026. Disney has previously stated they would announce a CEO early this year.
