Disney Files Permit for Feathered Friends in Flight Theater Construction

Walt Disney World filed a permit for construction at the Feathered Friends in Flight! theater in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The Notice of Commencement calls for Disney-owned Buena Vista Construction Company to “Provide labor, material and/or electrical for construction” at the Caravan Theater, home of Feathered Friends in Flight! in the park’s Asia section.

The permit wasn’t filed by Imagineering, so construction likely won’t involve major changes to the theater or show. It’s possible, however, that the show will close temporarily for refurbishment. Disney has not announced a closing date.

The permit was filed on January 21 and expires in one year.

The show is usually performed at 10:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:45 p.m., 2:45 p.m., and 3:45 p.m. daily.

Feathered Friends in Flight! replaced Up! A Great Bird Adventure in 2020 as a socially-distanced alternative but ultimately became the theater’s permanent show. Watch our video of Feathered Friends in Flight! below.
