Dozens of Passengers Evacuated After Monorail Loses Power at Disneyland

The Disneyland Monorail lost power last night, January 8, leading to the evacuation of about 60 guests. There are no injuries reported.

KTLA 5 reports that the Anaheim Fire Department responded just before 5 p.m. on January 8. However, a guest who was stuck on the Monorail told KTLA it lost power at about 3:30 p.m.

Riders were all evacuated by 7 p.m. Firefighters helped them down the trains via ladders.

A Disneyland Resort spokesperson said the Monorail’s beam lost power, affecting two trains. They were stopped near the entrance to Disneyland Park.

Guests had to climb ladders out of the trains. Authorities said there were no injuries. Watch a video of the scene below:
