A Florida man who was picked up from a Walt Disney World employee parking lot is facing multiple felony charges for shooting at his Uber driver.
Alexis Encarnacion-Rosado, 21, from Kissimmee, requested an Uber ride from a Walt Disney World employee lot just before 9:30 p.m. on January 1. It’s not known if Encarnacion-Rosado is or ever was a Disney employee.
According to WFLA Channel 8, an Osceola County affidavit states Encarnacion-Rosado was picked up by an Uber driver and then asked to stop at a Denny’s on the way to his final destination. The driver waited 20 to 30 minutes for Encarnacion-Rosado to get his food.
After Encarnacion-Rosado returned to the vehicle and the trip resumed, the driver suggested the defendant tip more for the wait. Encarnacion-Rosado became angry, cursing at the driver and spitting in his face. The driver then suspended the trip early.
Encarnacion-Rosado “angrily exited the vehicle” and the driver began to leave. He saw the defendant reach into his backpack, then heard the loud pops of gunshots, which hit his car as he drove off.
Encarnacion-Rosado ran away and hid behind nearby homes while the driver called the police. They recovered seven 40-caliber shell casings and found seven bullet holes in the car.
Encarnacion-Rosado, who is already a convicted felon on probation, was arrested and charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, discharging a firearm in public, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, battery, and criminal mischief.
