Crew members removed the Lightning Lane and stand-by wait time signs from the Disney Jr. show entrance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on the morning of January 6. The show closed last summer and a new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show will debut this summer.

Early Tuesday morning, we saw multiple crew members working on the sign.

Within the hour, the wait time and Lightning Lane signs on the underside of the archway were gone. Lettering had already been removed from above.

Below is what the sign looked like before the closure.

The theater has been home to a Disney Jr. (formerly Playhouse Disney) show since 1999, beginning with Bear in the Big Blue House: Live on Stage. The latest iteration of the show was Disney Jr. Play and Dance! This was replaced last summer by Get Animated!, a temporary dance party rather than a full show. The archway got new signage and decorations at the time, including a sketch-style cover for the Mickey ears on top.

Concept art for the reimagined Animation Courtyard indicates the Mickey ears will be removed from the archway. It doesn’t include the wait time or Lightning Lane signs, either. The new show may not utilize Lightning Lane or a posted wait time. It may also have a different entrance and the archway will get a new use.

The courtyard will now be inspired by the Walt Disney Studios lot, with the return of The Magic of Disney Animation and the new Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! The show premiered at Disney California Adventure last year. The courtyard and new show will open this summer.
