According to The Orange County Register, Marco Antonio Aguayo, 22, made threatening comments on a Disney Instagram page on July 12, 2025, the day Vance and his family were visiting Disneyland Resort.

Aguayo wrote, “Pipe bombs have been placed in preparation for J.D. Vance’s arrival” as well as “It’s time for us to rise up and you will be a witness to it” and “Good luck finding all of them on time, there will be bloodshed tonight and we will bathe in the blood of corrupt politicians.”

Aguayo was arrested on Friday and charged with one count of making a threat against the president and successors to the presidency. He will make his first court appearance on Tuesday, January 20 in Santa Ana federal court.

Aguayo initially denied being behind the comments, stating his account had been hacked. He later admitted to making the comments, however, and said he had meant them as a joke then forgot to delete them.

Aguayo could face up to five years in federal prison.
