Tables have been removed from outside Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort due to ongoing construction work.

The tables used to be along this walkway, where there are now temporary yellow squares. The quick-service restaurant remains open with seating indoors.

The yellow squares cover small holes in the ground where the tables were bolted down.

It seems the tables were removed to accommodate crews working on the roof above. The decorative overhang has been shaved down above the outdoor seating area.

The slanted posts now end right after the vertical supports. They previously extended further.

Around the corner, shrubs, trees, and other plants were removed from these flowerbeds. This is likely for similar work on the above overhang.
The resort recently opened a new roadway entrance and demolished the old guard shack. A new bus depot is under construction and the old entrance will become a bus-only entrance. Crews also recently refurbished the Aotearoa building stairs.
