Typhoon Lagoon Closing for Three Days Due to Cold Weather at Walt Disney World

Typhoon Lagoon will be closed for three days next week due to cold weather at Walt Disney World.

Typhoon Lagoon Closing for Weather

Typhoon Lagoon is closing January 12 through January 14 due to cold weather. Typhoon Lagoon is usually open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Normal operating hours are currently set to resume on January 15.

According to weather.com, temperature lows will be in the 50s and 60s for most of the week. However, some dates have lows in the 30s and 40s. It is possible that Disney will extend the weather closure due to these falling temperatures.

It’s common for the water parks to temporarily close during the winter months due to inclement weather. Both Typhoon Lagoon and Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando Resort have both closed already this season. It will likely close more throughout the winter.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will be open (weather permitting) through February 14, 2026. It will then close for seasonal refurbishment. Disney’s Blizzard Beach will open on February 15, 2026.

Both parks will then be open at the same time from May 26 through September 8, 2026. This coincides with Cool Kids’ Summer offerings throughout Walt Disney World Resort, including a new Diamond Horseshoe show for the first time in 20 years.
