'Zootopia 2' Now 10th Highest-Grossing Film of All Time and Still Rising

As it reaches its eighth week in theaters, Zootopia 2‘s box office take hasn’t slowed down. Not only has it been in the top five films every week since its release, it’s now officially the 10th highest-grossing movie of all time — and still going.

Released on Thanksgiving weekend 2025, Zootopia 2 dominated the box office from the jump with the biggest-ever global opening for an animated film, eventually becoming Walt Disney Animation’s highest-grossing movie ever and one of only two films released in 2025 to gross over $1 billion; the other was Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch.

According to worldwide numbers reported by KoiMoi and Global Box Office, Zootopia 2 has officially cracked the list of the top 10 highest-grossing films of all time with a current worldwide take of $1.67 billion, taking Jurassic World off the list. It’s on track to reach #9 by the end of the month if it surpasses $1.69 billion, knocking Inside Out 2 to the bottom spot as well as taking its title of all-time highest-grossing Hollywood animated film worldwide.

It is now Walt Disney Animation’s highest-grossing movie ever, surpassing Frozen II (Pixar’s Inside Out 2 remains Disney’s highest-grossing animated film across studios), and became only one of two films released in 2025 to gross over $1 billion; the other was Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch.

Disney is already talking about a Zootopia 3.

‘Zootopia 2’ China Box Office

Zootopia 2 was the first Hollywood movie to ever pass the $100 million mark in a single day in China, which has been largely responsible for the film’s success: it has already earned over $500 million in that country alone.

Shanghai Disneyland started Zootopia 2 promotions in January 2025 by having Gary De’Snake be the official character for the Year of the Snake, even though the film was still 11 months out from release.
