President Obama’s Basketball Removed From The Hall of Presidents Lobby

Former President Barack Obama’s basketball previously on display in The Hall of Presidents lobby at Magic Kingdom has been removed.

Obama’s Basketball Gone

The basketball was recently in this cabinet. The display is about the personal lives of the U.S. leaders. It also included a photo of Obama playing basketball, alongside a plaque about his love for the sport.

As of Wednesday, the basketball is gone. The photo of Obama and the plaque remains, with the photo moved to the basketball’s pedestal.

Filling the now-empty space is a photo of President John F. Kennedy with Macaroni, the White House pony.

The basketball, which was adorned with the presidential seal, was on loan from the Barack Obama Presidential Library.

The Obama Presidential Center is currently under construction in Chicago and set to open this summer. It’s possible the ball was reclaimed to move to the new center, which Obama said would have a basketball court.

Obama just recently made headlines catching an out-of-bounds basketball at Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game.

Watch our tour of The Hall of Presidents lobby below. Note that the basketball was in a different display case at the time but items were later rearranged.
