A new construction permit indicates the splash pad at Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter may soon be refurbished.

The Notice of Commencement is for “General Construction” at the interactive water play area’s address. It was filed by Disney’s Facility Asset Management, which indicates the permit is for maintenance rather than thematic changes. It contracts Vermana, who specializes in pool resurfacing and electro-mechanic repairs.

The play area is part of the Doubloon Lagoon pool area, which went through a major refurbishment in early 2024. This included refreshed flooring for the splash pad.

Disney has not announced any closures related to the permit, but we could see the play area close temporarily for work.

Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside are currently undergoing refurbishment.
