Crews are once again hard at work dismantling the former MuppetVision 3D show building in preparation for Muppets Courtyard to become Monstropolis. This morning, they were focusing on roof elements.
MuppetVision Roof Work

We spotted one cast member on a lift, still removing brick from the front facade. Brick removal now spans from the top of the entryway nearly to the roofline. We first reported the brick removal a few days ago and saw further work done on the removal yesterday.

Concept art for the Monsters, Inc. land indicates the building will have a brick finish, but it will also have a large marquee. The removal of the brick may be in preparation for the marquee’s installation.

It also appears the crews are removing ventilation covers from the roof. We are unsure if the vent covers are functional or just for thematic aesthetic. However, the one to the left has been stripped down to its support frames. The one on the right, obscured by the clock tower, still appears intact.

Two lifts in the courtyard are supporting the crews as they work to dismantle the vent covers on the roof.

The same process of removing elements that appeared like vent covers was also done on a nearby building. As you can see above, the frame was being removed recently and, as of this morning, is completely gone. We assume the same will be true of the MuppetVision building in the next day or two.

The removed vent elements are very similar to the ones in the back center of this older image above, where two vent-like towers can be seen on the orange building, which housed the former Stage 1 Company Store.
The Muppets will return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios when they take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster this summer.
