Not many structural changes can be seen for Universal Studios Hollywood’s next big coaster themed to the street racing franchise. However, we did get a peek at the interior load zone which features some colorful graphics.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift

In our last few updates, we’ve noticed that the entrance area for the new Fast & Furious coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood appears to be complete.

Now, inside the loading area, graffiti-like graphics line the walls showing us a hint of what the interior might look like.

In concept art, there is a structural support surrounding this area of track that crosses over the Universal Upper/Lower Lot escalators. In our last update, the wipe piping for the structure seems to be completely installed. Now, clear pieces are being added between the piping.

Moving down the escalators gives us a wider view of the track construction thus far. While the track is complete with testing underway, there is still some work to be done as noted by the construction equipment still present.

The Fast & Furious film saga is best known for its street racing action and character-driven plotlines. The upcoming Hollywood Drift coaster will return to the series’ roots by featuring a story set in Southern California, where the first film and later scenes throughout the series take place.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will open at Universal Studios Hollywood this year. It consists of 4,100 feet of track, sound reduction technology, and 360-degree rotation to create the sensation of drifting.
