Joe Rohde’s new book, Floating Mountains: The Art of Imagining the Impossible, is at the top of the Best Sellers in Traveler & Explorer Biographies on Amazon. It’s only been available to pre-order for a couple days.

After teasing “something cool” with an announcement later this week, we’ve found out that the Imagineering Disney Legend’s surprise is a new book: Floating Mountains: The Art of Imagining the Impossible, now available for pre-order. It releases on September 8, 2026.
The title is a reference to the “floating mountains” found in Pandora – The World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Recently, Rohde has been posting a lot about his work in the park, a personal favorite of his career.
Since it’s been available to pre-order, it’s already at the top of the best seller list in the Traveler & Explorer Biographies category on Amazon.
Rohde was officially inducted as an Imagineering Disney Legend in 2024.
