Last Day for First McDonald’s at Disney Village

The first McDonald’s at Disney Village, which opened back in January of 1999, is closing its doors today as the newly constructed establishment next door will take over the McDonald’s fast-food business in the Disneyland Paris shopping and dining district.

First Disney Village McDonald’s Closing

Last Day for First McDonald's at Disney Village

The original Disney Village McDonald’s first opened its doors in 1999 but will soon be demolished as part of the next phase of the reimaging of Disney Village. Phase one ended with the opening of the Sports Bar & Lounge. Phase two has already begun with the lengthy closure of Annette’s Diner and the permanent closure of the last Disney Store in France.

As visible in several photos from our visit in September 2025, the design had remained largely unaltered from its opening in 1999, although several self-service kiosks had been added and general refurbishing had taken place. It has not been announced yet as to what will take its place, but plans indicate a new street might end up cutting through to an unannounced hotel.

New McDonald’s

Concept for new McDonald's at Disney Village

The new McDonald’s has been constructed right next to the old McDonald’s and will be the largest in France when it officially opens on February 18, 2026. Pictured above is the official concept art, which features wood materials and yellow and green tones. There is a lot of foliage on the ground as well as on the balconies. Every floor will have its own terrace, providing views of the rest of Disney Village and several of the Resorts nearby.

Last year, Disney Style, Disney GlamourPetite Rosalie terrace restaurant, Deco by Disney, and a new LEGO Store opened. Italian restaurant Casa Giulia will open by the end of the year, which takes the place of the old Planet Hollywood.

Disney Village isn’t the only part of Disneyland Paris being reimagined. Walt Disney Studios Park has been undergoing significant changes and will be renamed Disney Adventure World when World of Frozen opens in 2026. This year, the updated World Premiere entrance will open. In addition to World of Frozen, the Adventure Bay expansion includes The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge, gardens, the “Tangled”-inspired Rapunzel Tangled Spin, and a new nighttime spectacular. A “Lion King”-inspired Pride Lands area will be added at a later time.
