After work on the front of Cinderella Castle ramped up last week, the paint has reached the surroundings of the clock’s face.
Cinderella Castle Repainting: February 16, 2026

Last week, the gold trim around the front entrance of the castle had been painted pale gray — the same color as the existing trim and columns on the stage.

Now, the painting has reached the area around the iconic clock, while several turrets are being repainted to have the gold accents removed.

There’s also been progress on the back of the castle, as the gray has spread across several more of the window trimmings. These areas around the windows appear to be some of the only ones on the backside still requiring new paint, as most of the back has already been reverted to the gray color scheme.

Our reporter noticed one painter still at work. Though the roofing hasn’t changed yet, it’s expected to be painted a lighter shade of blue.

From the castle’s side profile, the variation in gray is well visible, as the color will be a lighter shade the further it travels up the building to create a version of forced perspective as was first planned by its designer, John Hench.
Work is being done as inconspicuously as possible so as not to be obtrusive for the guests.

For reference, pictured above is the castle in 2019 with its original color scheme and in 2021 after it was painted for the 50th anniversary.
