Surprise Appearance by Kyra Bell Johnson at Disney on Broadway Concert Series Special Performance at EPCOT

A special guest made a surprise appearance on Sunday night during the first of the final two nights of the Disney on Broadway Concert Series at EPCOT. Kyra Bell Johnson, who plays Belle in the national tour of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, joined performers on stage for the concert centering on the musical.

Partway through the concert performance, Johnson was introduced onto the stage. Johnson joined Ashley Brown, Ainsley Melham, Susan Egan, and James Monroe Iglehart for a selection of songs from the musical.

Halfway through the Beauty and The Beast themed concert performance, Johnson was introduced onto the stage. She first sang the song “A Change in Me” on her own before being joined by the other performers.

A particularly special moment came when Johnson, Brown, and Egan all sang "Home" together. Egan originated the role of Belle on Broadway when the show opened in 1994; she worked over 750 performances. Brown made her Broadway debut as Belle and played the role from September 20, 2005, to May 28, 2006.

The entire show was themed to Beauty and the Beast and the performers all took turns performing a selection of songs from the Broadway musical.

The show's grand finale had Johnson, Egan, and Brown joined by Ainsley Melham and James Monroe Iglehart, who, together, performed a selection of songs from the Beauty and the Beast musical.

Iglehart originated the role of Genie in Aladdin on Broadway and performed in the role from March 2014 to February 2017. He won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor for his performance. Melham originated the role of Aladdin in Aladdin in Australia from 2016 to 2018 before transferring to Broadway.
