In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Half Marathon, Donald Duck will be the star of the show in 2027. runDisney teased the possibility of Donald’s takeover last week.
Donald Theming for Marathon Weekend
On Instagram, runDisney announced a very ducky Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend from January 6 to 10, 2027. The video showed Donald swiping each of the race markers in a flurry of feathers.
He pokes his beak into every race: 5k (Pluto), Chip ‘n’ Dale (10k), Donald and Daisy (Half Marathon), Mickey and Minnie (Marathon), Goofy (Race and a Half Challenge), and Dopey (all four races).
Here is a breakdown of the races, dates, and fees:
- Walt Disney World 5K: January 7, 2027 – $125
- Walt Disney World 10K: January 8, 2027 – $175
- Walt Disney World Half Marathon: January 9, 2027 – $249
- Walt Disney World Marathon: January 10, 2027 – $255
- Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge: January 9 -10, 2027 – $495
- Dopey Challenge: January 7-10, 2027 – $769
While the sequence of events and costs has been announced, registration is not yet open. We will keep you updated when registration begins.
