REVIEW: Berry Flavored Galaxy Popcorn Available at Universal Studios Hollywood

We tried the new multicolored berry popcorn for the limited-time The Super Mario Galaxy Movie celebration. This snack is available at Power Up Cafe in Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood. It’s also available in Universal Epic Universe.

Galaxy Popcorn – $9.99

Multicolored berry-flavored popcorn straight out of the galaxy.

It comes in a white popcorn container with stars all over. On one side, there is “Power Up” text, as well as a star and a ? block above and below it. Orange and yellow lines wrap around the top.

As far as the taste of the popcorn, our reporter notes that it tastes like nothing and like Trix cereal all at the same time. It smells more like fruit cereal than it tastes like it. Overall, the popcorn tastes like sugar coating with a hint of artificial fruit and a bit of Red 40 aftertaste.

The crunch is… nice, and the popcorn wasn’t stale, but it’s room temperature, which is always a negative for us. We are very stumped by the lack of flavor when it’s so colorful. Overall, kids may like this, but definitely a skip for most people.

Rating: 2/7

The Galaxy Popcorn is available through April 13. Other Super Mario Galaxy Movie offerings include a Yoshi meet and greet, Rosalina Cupcake, and Luma shoulder pals.
