The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge at Disney Adventure World displays custom decorative plates by Royal Delft featuring symbols of Disney Princesses. The restaurant will officially open later this month.
The Regal View Restaurant Plates by Royal Delft

The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge is the summer residence of Disney Princesses. The Walt Disney Imagineering Paris team ensured every detail would contribute to the “refined and elegant atmosphere” of the space. When guests enter, they will see these nine ornamental plates behind the check-in counter.

Each plate features a symbol representing a Disney Princess: the Clan DunBroch sword symbol for Merida, the Sultan’s Palace for Jasmine, Cinderella’s pumpkin coach, a diamond for Snow White, Raya’s Kumandra flower, the Enchanted Rose for Belle, and motifs for Moana, Aurora, and Ariel.

They were crafted by Dutch earthenware manufacturer Royal Delft, which was founded in 1653.
Bowie Faas, Principal Creative Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and native to the Netherlands said, “One element I’m very proud of, since it was created in my home country, are the ornamental plates you see in the lobby, featuring exclusive designs reflecting the world of Disney Princesses, created by Royal Delft, the renowned Dutch porcelain manufacturer and official supplier to the Dutch royal family.”

Artisans at Royal Delft painted each motif by hand, following a centuries old process that makes their blue shade unique. First, the artisans paint by hand using a mixture of cobalt oxide and water on the raw, unglazed ceramic surface. When the ceramic is fired, the cobalt undergoes a reaction that transforms it into the famous Delft Blue color.
“I am very proud of the collaboration with Disneyland Paris,” said Hessel Hoekstra, CEO. “Both our companies create magic in a certain way and invite people to experience it. It is a true honor to see our beautifully hand‑painted Delft Blue plates displayed in such a distinctive setting within Disney Adventure World in Disneyland Paris.”
Disney’s Royal Delft History
Walt Disney and his wife Lillian admired the work of Royal Delft. Lillian in particular was amazed by the creations of Dutch artisans. They visited the Royal Delft factory in 1951 and Walt Disney’s name is registered in the factory’s guest book.
Their admiration of Royal Delft was set in stone by architect Frank Gehry and sculptor Tomas Osinski. To honor Lillian, Gehry ordered several Royal Delft vases and tiles in the early 2000s, then broke them up and used them to create a rose-shaped memorial fountain. Called “A Rose for Lily,” it’s on display at the Blue Ribbon Garden of the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
