Is there more than just a new adventure coming to EPCOT? Walt Disney Imagineering filed a permit for “set elements” this morning, March 24, 2026, for Soarin’ Around the World at EPCOT. The attraction will be closed for a brief refurbishment from May 14 – 26, 2026, to make way for Soarin’ Across America.
Soarin’ Permit

In anticipation of the upcoming Soarin’ Around the World transition to Soarin’ Across America, Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a new permit. This permit authorizes Icarus Exhibits Inc. to enter and “install set elements” at 1994 Avenue of the Stars, Bay Lake, Florida. Icarus Exhibits Inc. is often a contractor for set elements for Disney and has been tapped a lot in recent years for other projects.
In 2025, they were permitted to work on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether,” and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
At this time, it is unclear what those “set elements” might be. Given the short scope of the refurbishment, it is likely not anything extensive. However, there may be some noticeable changes in the queue or ride other than the show itself.
