Walt Disney Imagineering filed a new permit to “Install set elements” at the Disney Jr. theater in Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The theater is currently closed but will reopen with a new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show this summer.
Set Permit for Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!

The permit contracts frequent collaborator Icarus Exhibits, who was also contracted for set installation at the neighboring The Magic of Disney Animation.
As is standard, the permit expires in one year. But Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! will open on May 26.

The first version of Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! opened at Disney California Adventure in May 2025. It’s inspired by Disney Jr.’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (2006 – 2016) and the revival Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, which premiered last year.
The show utilizes a large screen behind the characters to represent different locations, as well as a light-up proscenium arch. Similar elements already exist in the Disney’s Hollywood Studios theater. But the permit could be for other elements at the theater, not just show sets.

Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! replaces Disney Jr. Play and Dance! and the Get Animated! dance party.
The refurbished Animation Courtyard inspired by The Walt Disney Studios is expected to open at the same time as the new show. Disney has not announced an opening date for The Magic of Disney Animation, indicating it will open later this summer.
