Disneyland Paris Nighttime Show 'Tales Of Magic' to Permanently Stop Using Drones Starting With Castle Refurbishment

In an announcement shared by the official Disneyland Pass account, Disneyland Paris nighttime spectacular “Disney Tales of Magic” will cease to feature drones.

In the Instagram announcement, the account clarifies that starting April 1, 2026, the show will be presented in a version focused on projections and pyrotechnic effects, and will no longer feature drones. This leaves guests with less than a month to watch the show the way it was originally envisioned.

In addition to this, the show will be adapted from May 4 to the end of September 2026 as the bridge of Sleeping Beauty Castle will (finally) be refurbished. Fountain effects will be absent while new pyrotechnic sequences will be introduced. The castle will remain accessible throughout the duration of the work.

Disneyland Paris clarifies that starting March 29, Disney Cascade of Lights will feature brand-new drone choreographies, as this will allow Disneyland Paris to offer two major nighttime spectaculars every evening. Probably, despite the new water-drones, the new show at Disney Adventure World will reuse some, if not all, of the drones, as there have never been two drone shows simultaneously at the resort, instead switching from park to park. 379 drones will be used for this new show.

The night show was first announced in August of 2024, with the official name and more details revealed in November. The show includes characters from both Disney and Pixar animated films, such as “Cinderella,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Lion King,” “Lilo & Stitch,” “Encanto,” “Coco,” “Toy Story,” and “WALL-E.”

“Disney Tales of Magic” is the first show in Disneyland Paris to ever feature projection mapping along the Main Street U.S.A. facades. The show also utilizes a new LED lighting package and a new immersive audio system. Drones operated by Dronisos formed 3D images in the sky, along with pyrotechnics, fireworks, lasers, and fountains.

The show’s soundtrack is composed exclusively for the production and features over 20 custom arrangements of iconic Disney and Pixar songs. The main theme is “Live in Magic,” an original song composed by Noémie Legrand, Tony Ferrari, and Lucky West. It is performed in French and English by Legrand, accompanied by a 100-piece orchestra recorded at Air Studios in London.

“Disney Tales of Magic” is a 20-minute show currently scheduled to perform every night in Disneyland Paris, weather permitting.

Walt Disney Studios Park has been undergoing significant changes and will be renamed Disney Adventure World when World of Frozen opens in 2026. This year, the updated World Premiere entrance will open. In addition to World of Frozen, the Adventure Bay expansion includes The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge, gardens, the “Tangled”-inspired Rapunzel Tangled Spin. The park’s update also included a reimagining of the entrance space, now dubbed World Premiere.
