The official trailer for the live-action remake of Moana has been released.

In the trailer, a proper look at the live-action Maui portrayed by The Rock can be seen in action, as well as one of the villains in the movie, Tamatoa. Disney also released a new poster for the upcoming film, which features Moana and her oar, Maui with his hook, Pua, and Hei-Hei:

Disney has also released a behind-the-scenes look at the movie with an Instagram reel showcasing the respect for the Polynesian culture shown throughout several aspects, including the costume design.

In Moana, Disney’s live action reimagining of the Oscar-nominated animated movie, Moana (Catherine Lagaʻaia) answers the Ocean’s call and voyages beyond the reef of her island of Motunui with the infamous demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) on an unforgettable journey to restore prosperity to her people.
The film is directed by Emmy and Tony Award winner Thomas Kail (Hamilton); produced by Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Beau Flynn, Hiram Garcia, and Lin-Manuel Miranda; and executive produced by Kail, Scott Sheldon, Charles Newirth, and Auliʻi Cravalho, who voiced Moana in the animated films Moana and Moana 2.
Moana features original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foaʻi and Mark Mancina, and an original score composed by Mancina. Audiences can experience the sights, sounds and songs of Moana exclusively in theaters on July 10, 2026.
Moana was also recently in the spotlight with her new show aboard the Disney Adventure, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship. She also received a new limited edition doll set with her sister from Moana 2. Take a look at the full show below:
