‘Heart of Magic’ Show Makes Debut With ‘Flying’ Hercules & Pegasus at Shanghai Disney’s 10th Birthday Celebration

‘Heart of Magic’ made its debut on Shanghai Disneyland’s upgraded Enchanted Storybook Castle stage for the 10th birthday celebration. In the show, Hercules and Pegasus “fly” above the stage.

Join Mickey and his friends on a magical journey through nine timeless Disney tales. Be among the first to meet brand-new characters making their debut and rediscover beloved melodies like never before. On an ingeniously designed stage, magnificent sets bring iconic moments to life before your eyes.  With Disney friends so close, the story comes alive all around you in a dazzling celebration of Disney magic.

The show features four chapters, nine Disney stories, 11 classic melodies, 16 Disney friends, and 24 Disney dancers. It’s considered the main entertainment offering for the anniversary year. Guests will see several characters from Disney and Pixar films, including:

  • Cinderella
  • Winnie the Pooh
  • Tangled
  • Mulan
  • Frozen
  • Toy Story
  • Coco
  • Turning Red
  • Hercules (first-ever appearance in this park)

Speaking of Hercules, not only is it his first-ever appearance in this park, but he and Pegasus “fly” above the stage during the sequence. Watch a clip from the new stage below:

The intricate set features more than 1,200 LED panels that transform throughout the show.

Mickey’s Storybook Express Parade has a pre-parade featuring Duffy and Friends and a new Zotoopia unit. The 10th anniversary celebration also includes the reimagined “Illuminate! A Nighttime Celebration.” Check out the 10th anniversary merchandise and limited-time food.

Shanghai Disneyland opened its gates to the public on June 16, 2016.
