Following Disneyland Handcrafted, Leslie Iwerks is directing another feature-length Disney documentary that will debut at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
New Leslie Iwerks Documentary

Disney did not announce the subject of the documentary but said it would offer fans “an exclusive first look at a powerful new Disney story told through her singular lens.”
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event will be August 14 – 16, 2026 in Anaheim. Read more about tickets.
Iwerks is the daughter of Disney legend Don Iwerks and the granddaughter of Ub Iwerks, an original Disney animator and co-creator of Mickey Mouse.
Iwerks also directed the Emmy Award-nominated The Pixar Story and The Imagineering Story. Her first feature-length documentary was The Hand Behind the Mouse: The Ub Iwerks Story.
Disneyland Handcrafted

Released in January, Disneyland Handcrafted utilizes rare footage of the creation of Disneyland to highlight the work and artistry it took to get the park ready for opening day. It features first-hand accounts from the Imagineers, artists, and craftsmen who made the park’s creation possible, offering insight into the pressure and tension of literally getting Disneyland off the ground. It’s streaming on Disney+ and Disney YouTube. Check out Tom’s honest review.
