Construction walls have enveloped the porte cochère of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa as the refurbishment begins. Disney previously shared that construction at Grand Floridian Resort & Spa would continue through early 2027.
Port Cochère Refurbishment

The entrance area, which also houses the monorail station on the second floor, is now partially enclosed by construction walls, with scaffolding visible in the shadows behind them.

The entrance remains open, though the Disney World website did warn the porte cochère would be refurbished, so it would be possible for this area to be enclosed further at some point.

It appears several roof panels have been removed. Disney has not mentioned anything about the monorail station closing.

Work for now appears to be limited to the ground level, but it could rise to the second level as progress continues.

A marker appears on the other side of the road from the porte cochère, possibly indicating a temporary structure might be erected during the refurbishment, although nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Grand Floridian Refurbishment

The remaining construction extending into 2027 includes various areas of the resort. The lobby reopened in October 2025 with new carpeting and furniture, with The Perch lobby bar following in November 2025. The Mary Poppins fountain in the lobby of The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is also currently blocked off for refurbishment.

Construction has not prevented the Easter egg displays from appearing throughout the resort. They can be viewed here.
The last area awaiting reopening is the Garden View Tea Room, which has been closed for six years, having closed with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The tea room will reopen on March 19.
