When it comes to planning Walt Disney World Lightning Lanes, Magic Kingdom has the most to choose from. Because of that, it can be tricky to figure out which are the most (and least) worthwhile. So here are the 3 best and worst Lightning Lane options at this park.
Magic Kingdom Lightning Lanes
Single Pass

The Lightning Lane Single Pass is completely separate from the Multi Pass, and it lets you purchase access to one specific attraction.
At Magic Kingdom, there are only two attractions available as a single Lightning Lane pass: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run. These attractions are not available as one of your three choices on a Multi Pass.
Multi Pass

Unlike the Single Pass, the Multi Pass allows you to choose up to three attractions in advance with specific arrival windows. After using your first Multi Pass experience, you may be able to choose an additional experience (subject to availability).
At Magic Kingdom, the following attractions are redeemable through the Multi Pass:
You can choose one of the following from this group:
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad — Opening May 3
- Jungle Cruise
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Space Mountain
- Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Choose two other experiences, or all three, from this group:
- The Barnstormer
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- Haunted Mansion
- “it’s a small world”
- Mad Tea Party
- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic
- Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Tomorrowland Speedway
- Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid
Premier Pass

Beyond Multi Pass, you also have the option to use Premier Pass at Magic Kingdom. Once you’ve purchased the pass for your chosen park and date, you can enter the Lightning Lane entrances one time for each participating attraction (the same as Multi Pass, plus Single Pass) at any time during the day. There’s no need to book return times or manage ride reservations. Simply tap in at the Lightning Lane entrance and enjoy the ride.
3 Best Lightning Lanes

Because of the tier system at Magic Kingdom, we’re breaking down the best Tier 1 option and two of the best Tier 2 options.
- Tier 1: Peter Pan’s Flight (for families)
- Average all-time wait time: 51 minutes
- Tier 2: Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
- Average all-time wait time: 30 minutes
- Highest recent wait: 120 minutes
- Tier 2: Haunted Mansion
- Average all-time wait time: 34 minutes
- Highest recent wait: 75 minutes
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin recently reopened after a significant refurbishment, so its wait times can be significantly higher than normal. That’s why we’ve ranked it as the best Tier 2 option at the time of writing.
3 Worst Lightning Lanes

Generally, the worst Lightning Lane choices (when you have to choose) are shows that happen throughout the day. That’s because they can often seat everyone in the standby line, and you’ll be wasting the opportunity to use the Lightning Lane on something else.
In the case of Magic Kingdom, those choices would be:
- Mad Tea Party
- Average wait time: 6 minutes
- Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic
