Aerial Photos Reveal Track Updates on Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift at Universal Orlando Resort

The upcoming drifting, twisting thrill ride has recently gone vertical, and aerial angles show the latest on track installation efforts.

Coaster Construction Updates

Fast & Furious aerial update as of late April 2026

Back in February, we spotted the first signs of coaster track being staged for the upcoming Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift coaster at Universal Studios Florida. Just a few days ago, we got our first in-park view of the new track construction.

Now, new photos from aerial photographer bioreconstruct on X show the full scope of coaster developments coming along behind the scenes.

In this series of photos, we have a comprehensive view of the backstage staging area where crews are loading and unloading various beams and supports for the coaster.

Over at the construction site, we can get a closer look at developments on the installed track itself and the attraction load/unload station (top right framework in the above image) and service building (bottom left corner of the image).

As we can gather from the dual-track layout, the coaster is designed in a dual load-unload configuration. Bioreconstruct also notes an observation that a second concrete platform was recently cast for switch track accessing the station and also the service building.

Within the bounds of Universal Studios, we can see part of the coaster project extending toward the back corner of the New York area, spanning a section of the park connected to utility work for the new ride.

Near the center of coaster construction, Bioreconstruct also notes that the attraction track will be extending over a longstanding utility building positioned near the roller coaster station. The above photos show the utility building as of April 10 and then construction progress around the building as of September 2025.

Concrete platforms are being prepared to support future components of the track, including portions leading to the service building.

These final two images give us a closers look at progress on the primary tracks and load/unload building so far. There is still work to be done on the framework and on extending the track towards the service building and further into the proper coaster experience.

The Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster is replacing Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Florida. Since the attraction’s original announcement, construction for the coaster has continued at a steady pace with its opening scheduled for sometime in 2027.

The first iteration of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will soon open at Universal Studios Hollywood. It consists of 4,100 feet of track, sound reduction technology, and 360-degree rotation to simulate the experience of drifting while rolling through various intense turns and rolls on the coaster track.

The Florida version of Hollywood Drift will not be identical to the California version, but it will likely match the theming and drifting effects.
