Bird’s Eye View of ‘Encanto’ Ride Construction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

This morning, we hopped on Expedition Everest for a bird’s eye view of the new Tropical Americas land under construction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We got a look at the Encanto ride building.

The building with yellow walls in the foreground is Theater in the Wild, home to Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! Further back is the Encanto building. As you can see, final paneling has yet to be installed on the building’s exterior but there are steel frames in place obscuring the interior.

One half of the building is slightly taller than the other half. The shorter half is where guests will enter and walk the queue. It will be fronted by Casita from Encanto. The entrance has started to take shape on the ground.

A vibrant model of a tropical villa, reminiscent of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, nestled among lush greenery and rolling hills.

The building is visible in the Tropical Americas model, hidden behind the Casita facade, trees, and fake mountains. It will be in the approximate location of Primeval Whirl, which was demolished years before the rest of DinoLand closed.

The ride will take guests through the story of Encanto but also go beyond the movie. They will travel into Antonio’s jungle-inspired room on vehicles made of living furniture.
